IN-PERSON TESTING

The TOVA Test is an in-person test. It requires a special electronic device to be calibrated with a computer and audio-visual accessories for microsecond response measurements. Don’t be fooled by websites and online articles that say otherwise; you can not take the TOVA Test online.

COMPREHENSIVE ADHD EVALUATION

Do you only need an objective analysis of attention-deficit and impulsivity or do you need a comprehensive evaluation for diagnosing ADHD? The TOVA test provides the former. There are mental health providers or facilities that offer comprehensive ADHD evaluation packages that include questionnaires, rating scales, intellectual screenings, and measures of sustained attention and distractibility (one of which is the TOVA Test). They may also include extended clinical interviews with a testing psychologist, a synthesis of information from parents and teachers, and standardized cognitive, academic, psychological, and neuropsychological measures. Prices and quality will vary, so shop around. The TOVA test costs about $300 while a comprehensive ADHD evaluation can cost from $3000 to $5000.

TOVA TEST ONLY

There are mental health providers or facilities that offer the TOVA Test a la carte. You can just take the tests and get the reports without signing-up for additional services. The test reports are generated by the testing device, so selection of a testing location is guided by price, convenience, their ability to cater to your scheduling needs, and quality of customer service.
